2. installation
wine you get wine as .rpm or .deb packages under debian gnu/linux very simple ;-) # apt-get install wine emule: The emule Installer does't work under wine. You have to download the zipd file, unzip it. # unzip eMule0.30e.zip and emule is ready: # wine emule.exe & and emule runs ... to get a connection to a server you have to get a server.met file, server.met as input for a search engine, download , import into emule ...
Its not easy to get the right Configuration. You have to set Max.Connections to a higher value. I used 200, as under Windows The Warning "The number you have selected for Max.Connections is larger then your OS supports: 100" it's not important. Just ingnior it. Later I set the Max.Connections value to 300, because my net access became slow. Set the max source per file to a higher value to, i use 500. You have to experiment to find out the best selection. The network-performace under wine is not very good, my upload was never higher then 20 Kbit/s.
